All my life I dreamed of being an artist, to paint big pictures. In school I draw my parents, friends, landscapes… But once a stronger wish to be a reporter - I became a journalist and writer. My meeting with Irene was a godsend - she is a very gifted and talented artist. She has a perfect technique - that's what I missed, I had no good teacher and time to learn art secrets.
When I met my buddy, all my long dreams and endless ideas about pictures became a reality. How does it work? I start to show my picture topics to Irene and she puts them on canvas, piece by piece. The creating is hard. Usually it's takes from three weeks to three months. I do a sketch; show my wife what I want. She looks on that by her artist's eye, making changes. At that time we argue, each creator has a different and sharp point of view. Sometimes I agree with her improvements, sometimes not. What I don't like, I correct. In some cases even sit with brush and paint some part of picture by myself. Now we have more, then 50 common pictures. We sign them by our common name (Michael + Irene) MichaIr.
Some day, some century, some millennium we will settle and want to have our own art museum or gallery, open to the public. That's why we are trying not to sell originals or at least for a good amount of money. But we take orders to paint pictures, portraits and landscapes, ikons, any kind of dolls - even family dolls with the portraits of all members of family, including dogs, cats etc.
We can make any unusual architectural design - even for private homes.
From our paints we are making copies, posters etc. And we sell them by different ways.
Copies: 11x17 with mat 16 x 20 - USD$50 (shipping $5),
laminated poster 11 x 17 - $25(shipping - $3),

"Rus' ", MichaIr, 1994, watercolor on paper, 10 x 15.
Price of original: USD$5000
The emblem of our expedition. For our country we have two names. "Russia" - is more official, for everyday use. But "Rus' " - is the lovely and poetic name, with high spiritual meaning. Behind the Cathedral St. Basil you see Mother-Rus'. In her left hand she keeps a dove, as a peaceful symbol of our expedition. In her right hand you see our keel-less boat Saint Paul.
"Beauty", MichaIr, 2000, acrylic on canvas, 16 x 20.
Price of original: USD$5000
In face of this girl in traditional Russian costume and ikon style frame I see hyphens of my wife. I name this picture as the "Irene's self-portrait", but she disagree. What can I do, if she paint this picture and often was looking to mirror? I even kept the mirror, when she painted her hands… Irene, never argue with husband - he knows better! Self-portrait! That's all for now!
"Our fairy boat", MichaIr, 2003, acrylic on canvas, 16 x 20 inches.
Price of original: USD$5000
This picture - our latest creation. It would be a front page for book "A Salty AmeriCat-4". On our way from Panama across the Caribbean Sea was so good fortune and smooth sailing - all nature helped to us with all gods above and under water. Even our three friends-dolphins always escort us and tow boat between the dangerous reefs…
"Koozya catching flying fish", MichaIr, 1998, acrylic on canvas, 16 x 20..
Price of original: USD$5000
Across the Caribbean Sea we sail during the nights with full lights - so big ships could see us better. But all lights on deck attract a lot of flying fish, each night 10-15 of them fly on top of boat and remain there. Our clever cat found, that they are very tasty and start to eat them. They are up to 30 cm long (one foot) and so good, that you can order them in many southern restaurants. Our Koozya ate up to 5-6 of them each morning.
Another story about day's catch. Cats accept flying fish like birds and often jump overboard to catch them. Many boaters lost their fluffy friends in tropics. Our cat also jumped in water, but I saw that, stopped the boat and saved my four-legged crewmember. That unforgettable jump gave to me idea about this painting.
"Koozya's dreams", MichaIr, 2001, acrylic on canvas, 12 x 18.
Price of original: USD$5000
I always love to see, how my dear tail-less buddy sleeps. His eyes are sharply turning, legs are running… Once I thought - what he is seeing in the dreams? Probably, everything, what he saw on his sailing with us in 10 countries and on all his 20,000 miles. And we sit and paint around our cat a lot of exotic things, which we meet during our journey.
"Ostrog", Irene Pobor, 1999, acrylic on wood, 6 x 10.
Price of original: USD$500
Ostrog - it's a Russian name for an old style wooden fortress, which Russian explorers built on North and East of the country during the discovering of new lands. Mostly they travel on packet-boats (packet on Russian means envelope with mail, such type of boats were as the floating post-offices, delivered mail to people along the coast). Many trailblazers lost their lives on hard and dangerous routes in Siberia and the Far-East.

This is the front page for my book "Three on boat, including cat". From the left: Koozya, myself and Irene.

Around 150 millions years ago disappear this amazing bird - Archaeopteryx. She was very unusual - long tail and legs, sharp claws on wings, heavy nose. Nobody knows, how her furs been colored, because science found only her bones… Why is she extinct? In my mind, Archaeopteryx was a dreamer, who tried to catch mystical stars and comets. Once she left for sky and never came back… But she left without protecting her coming baby - big egg. And terrible viper swallowed the Archaeopteryx future. We are living in a rough world. The God is shaking our Earth. The viper symbolizing for me all evil on Earth - wars, crime, lies, pollution of nature and souls. We lost Archaeopteryx, but we need an emergency to save our Earth. The sketch of this picture I made in 15 minutes and after we paint it with Irene on canvas over 3 months…
